Over this last couple of weeks we have seen a "war" take place, a battle between two candidates for power. A battle of who is right and who is wrong. As well, in a lot of people's mind there is a battle that is taking place, a battle for our youth's minds. A battle between truth and lies.
Remember back to the email that I read in class a couple of days ago. Remember the formula that I gave you for truth and lies=hear it=believe it=act on it.
Because truth is such an important thing, how do you determine what is true and what is not true?
Because truth is challenged everyday. Whether it be on TV, through friends, or through the internet. Truth is a hot topic, a thing that is challenged everyday.
And to look back on this whole idea that we are in a battle over truth and lies is to think that we have someone to fight. But ultimately the fight is between our sinful selfs and our desire to honor God.
But the battle has been won, Christ has defeated sin and death on the cross and has been raised from the dead.
Because of this, who is the war between? People who do not agree with us or the lies that the devil tells us?

Remember to think outside the box. Don't just give me a typical answer and say that truth is what my parents tell me or what God tells me and that is all you say. Give me an honest answer with details. Don't be afraid to be honest and interact with others.
i think that we need to listen to God more and speak truthfully to other piers.
i also think that we have to go for God first and earthly things second.
we may need to go for God first, but that doesnt necesarily mean that we NEED to go for earthly things second, we always need to keep God the highest priority, but if it's a necessity to go for worldly things, then go for it dawgg.
I think that Barak O'Bama is telling us lies sometimes about how he thinks he really can change this country, and alot of people worship him, and rely on him completely, but i think he will end up letting them all down
i think that the Bible is the real truth because it came from God. I agree with eli that we need to listen more to God than other people and what they believe.
we need to like listen to wat evry1 says but dont believe evrything u hear. we also need 2 listen 2 God more often win were praying instead of just axing 4 stuff and thanking him 4 stuff. its so boring and routine that i think God might get tired of hearing the exact same thing evry time we pray.
We can figure out what is truth and what isn't by going to the Bible. If it contridicts the Bible, don't believe it. No matter what it is, it's got to be in the Bible somewhere.
some of the lies i have been told that has doubted my faith is evolution. to me it makes more sense that a cell created everything rather than God making everything out of nothing. however when i read my bible daily it reminds that God is the one true god and that he is the creator of ALL things.
I agree COMPLETELY with Kameron. We should never just pray for possesions and thanking him, we need to go to Him with everything. Ask him to show you the truth.
i agree totally on what you said about Barack Obama. he does tell people he will take care of them and provide all their needs but in reality there is no possible way he can take care of all those millions of americans.

Most of us are teenagers now and we all think different, act different, and get different grades. But we all have problems with the truth, doesn't matter if your the best kid or the worst,we all are boys and have problems with the same thangs. But some of us more then others.
Now on the subject of O'Bama, most people look down on him because he subports some wrong thangs, but you have to look at the whole thang not just one subject.Yes, I think it would of been better if Mccain was voted in, but O'Bama beat him by alot, so hes doing somethang right with the people.

Truth is just something that we know for sure, there is some things that we think is true but really it is not, i think we all can agree that the bible is 100% true. Now about enemies. I do think Obama is an enemy for the most part, it is my opinion and lots of others that he is not the right man to run our country, i kinda agree with matt on how he must be doin something right cuz lots of people voted for him, but i just dont know what he is doing right. Even though must of us don't want him as the pres, and i know u guys hav heard this alot from your teachers, but we really do need to respect him as the pres. We also need to realize that God is under control and he has a plan for Obama as pres, and it is fine to disagree with his beliefs, but he is not a total enemy.

I may be doing extra, but I am righting this in case I did the wrong topic. Lies are all around us. Some lies that i believe that the Devil has told me is that in order to be a christian, you have to have a mind blowing experience with God. What I mean is that I have heard all these stories about people feeling the presence of God and seeing him. So if I am a christian, why do I not have any of these experiences.
There are many lies. I agree with all of the Obama comments I think that even though he says he is a christian and seems like a good person,he twists what the bible says and makes it very dangerous to follow him.
But if we make God the only way then we shouldn't fall into these lies!

Well the ultimate truth is the bible so everything needs to be based off of the bible. If you believe in Jesus and God. If you think someone is telling a lie then you should believe in what you think is right or just nake them prove to you what they say. Then you can believe them. Or try to find it in the Bible.
I think that no matter how hard a person may try to outrun his lies or stay honest he will eventually get caught by the lies or lie.
I also think that no matter what we are always faced with the same choice : lie or be truthful , which many times we come up with a lie and cover for something to stall for time to fix it or make people forget about stuff
Lastly i think that Matt is right on the obama subject and how he has done all these promises then says he cant get them to work... which is typical... he made up a lie on most or some of those thing to make himself the president and that a lot of the past presidents lied... at least one in court too.
i agree with tyler that we should not cheat and stuff cuz all that does is get you in more trouble. And the more you lie the more it will come back and hurt you. So if you don't lie you won't get as much punishment in the end.
one way to determine what is true or not true is the Bible. whatever it says is true, no matter what. another way is your conscience, which is God for christians. if that tells you that something is false or wrong, its probably God telling you that its wrong. i think the war is between anyone who is not christian. we should not just be judgemental and hate everyone, but we should love them and help them. i also think satan is one. he tempts us every day. it is our job to resist it and follow God. there are many lies that can make us think about if what God says is true. all we have to do is remain steadfast and always believe God.

I think it is really hard to discern wat the truth is on a lot of matters, but there are a few things im sure of. God is real and the Bible is the truth, no doubt about it, but mr. Reed said not to give 1 of those anoying churchy answers. I have grown up in the church all 14 years of my life so i havent been told many lies about God bein untrue. I have been convinced w/ no turning back that God is the true god and we are called to deny ourselves, take up our crosses and folw him(Matthew 16:24-25).I have more of a problem w/ disagreeing w/ people. Unless there is factual evidence that proves me wrong, im adement about wat i belive.

i think truth comes from God and the bible and i think that lies come from anyone. anyone can tell a lie but it is up to us to deciede if it is a truth or a lie. we can pray and and ask God to determine what is truth and what is lie is too.

I do not know about everyone else but the biggest temptation I encounter on a daily basis is one of evolution. I have watched many a science show that is good in the area of showcasing the extent of God's prowress, but they usually promote the false idea of evolution.
To me, it makes much more sense that universe including planet earth, has taken billions upon billions of year to form. Creationary (Biblical) scientists date the world at approximately 10-15,000 years of age. I just cannot accept that. Everything is just so complex and intricate, I have a hard time accepting the true fact that all God had to do was say the word and "Poof!", everything was there.
Personally, for me to accept and idea or personal belief to be true must have physical proof. After all, I live in the "Show Me State." Anyways, scientists who have set out on a quest to prove the Bible wrong eventually end up with the conclusion the Bible is 100% true. I can easily believe most of the things that take place in it, but I am having a hard time believing the earth is actually quite young, as opposed to billions upon billions of years old. I guess I'm just gonna have to work on this one.

i think that we can know what is truth or lies by matching it up with the bible. if it doesnt fit than it is a lie and if it does its not a lie. the problem today is that we try to say something is right when the Bible says its wrong, just to get our own way. Its like trying to call an orange an apple, but it still doesnt change the fact that it is an orange. trying to modify the system of truth and lies is pointless and doesnt change anything. Just follow Gods word in the exact way it means.
I'll answer your questions in order, Mr. Reed.
1.) We determine truth from lies by doing one thing: by basing it on the Bible, God's Holy Word which is, of course, 100% true. 'Nuff said.
2.) My opinion on this one is that the real enemy is Satan (The Prince of Lies), not the people who disagree with us. God loves those people that are against us, too. So, being children of God we should think of those who disagree as friends who need to be won over to our personal Lord and Savior, not as arch enemies.
3.) I have to say, this an interesting question. The biggest lie told to me that me doubt the glory of God had to be this: 'All truth is "objective". There is no ultimate truth, no ultimate deity." What this means is that one person might have convictions about something but those same convictions can't be put upon another person because it's not true for them. I prayed over this and came up with a counter argument. If there is no absolute and ultimate truth, then anything I say is true for me. Let's say, for example, that killing is right for me. Then me bashing you over the head with a hammer can't be morally wrong because there is only one truth.
