Life Without Limbs

A quote from Nick Vujicic today in our class for cultural Thursday:
"It's time that we be bold and take stand for ourselves and others...God has a plan for you"

Today we watched a inspiring video about being a child of God. As we can see from Nick that he has had some difficult circumstances in life. Times where he wished he wasn't even alive.
But, he says that the greatest joy in his life is hearing this from God: "Nick, I love you, and everything is going to be okay. Those words changed my life..."
We see from Nick that he has cast his cares and his burdens on God and that he encourages us to find out identity in God and not in what we think it should be.

Don't get me wrong, I know that there are things that we do not like about ourselves. Things that we wish we could change or make different.
But if you remember from our class discussions and the video that God has given us a privilege, a gift. He has made us unique and individual.

What is a couple ways that you can use your gifts or abilities for God?

Why is it hard to be comfortable with who you are and what you can do?

Is it easier to pick on others than to be stick up for them?

Let me know what you think, and add a question if you want

*Mr. Reed

i think that we should just do our best to know the right thing. i know that we could get right but mabye we pick on others cause we can't seem to do the right thing. i want to add a question to the blog.

Why do we pick on others why can't we do the right thing? Why?

it's hard to be comfortable with who you are, because it's very easy to get caught up in what everyone else thinks.some kids live in fear that one bad move will make people think that he's weird.

i agree very much with steven h

Anonymous said...

sometimes its very hard to just be your self cause every one will thinks your strange i think we get cought up in what others think way too much .

Anonymous said...

I think it is easier to pick on others because people think that it can be funny and everyone likes the class clown, but its really not good for other peoples self esteem to put them down

Anonymous said...

I definitely agree with blantron: it is very easy to pick on others i dont like but if i try to do the right thing and make a difference i think i will definitly find a love for that person.

you can use your gifts playing sports by having a good attitude or at school by setting a Christlike example.

I also would like to say that it is hard sometimes to be happy with yourself. You just need to learn to accept who you are and try to make a difference with the gifts God has given you.

i think it is hard to be comfortable with who you are because people pick on you. no matter how you act people will always find some way to pick on you, but you still always want to change to be popular. i think that it is a lot easier to pick on someone because everyone else does it and you, again, want to be popular.

Anonymous said...

I concur with the Rickie

Anonymous said...

i think sam said something great. even though you are going to get picked on, you should still be happy with who you are and make a difference for God.

Anonymous said...

Well picking on others is so easy to do b/c everyone else does it and if we stick up for that person we might get made fun of.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Sam and I would like to say that if we don't accept who we are ur are unhappy with the way God made you which happens to be in his image

Anonymous said...

steven is right on

Anonymous said...

its hard to be comfortable with yourself because you think you do one weird thing and u stop yourself from doing it and being yourself.

Anonymous said...

i think we all get caught up too much in ourselves and we think that if we doing something wrong people will make fun of us.

I think it's hard to live with who we are because so many people will criticize you because their at the top of the food chain. When we hear so many insults or even gossip about ourselves, we think it's dumb and their just annoying. But then we think. We think, "what if he's right?" or "Mabye I am just a loser," But we shouldn't think that. Just ignore them and remember God has a special plan for everyone. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "I know the plans I have for you says the LORD... To give you a future and a hope," That says you have a special purpose in life, and NOBODY is useless. And Steven H. I totally agree with you.

It is so much easier to pick on people than to stick up for them. Part of why is because you are afraid of the other people, who might think you are as uncool as the person their picking on. No matter what though, if they're picking on someone, they're insults are just describing them.

I am going to deal with question number 2. I personally think it is hard to be who WE are because we want to be what EVERYONE else are. We degrade ourselves by calling ourselves ugly when their is something wrong with our face, or calling ourselves stupid when we don't remember something. In doing so, we are directly mocking and degrading not just ourselves, but God as well. It is said in the Bible that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and are perfect in any way possible. God created every part of who you are to glorify Him, so that means He gave you certain skills and areas where you struggle in. Another part of the problem is peerpressure. You are to comfortable with your position in life to try anything different, or stick up for something or someone. Therefore if we care nothing of what the world thinks of us, and do what we think is right, it is the world that will start noticing us.

I agree with Blanton. We pick on others because of our own insecurtity. We are afraid what are friends might think of us and in turn, even though we may want to do it, we forget about it. I have to work on this.

Anonymous said...

I agree w/ Chase

Anonymous said...

It kinda sucks sometimes 2 be different and people make fun of you

Anonymous said...

i aggre with steve

Anonymous said...

it is easer to pick on others but God would rather have us do utherwise

Anonymous said...

I'm going to deal with question #1. I'm going to tell you an easy way to use my talents and abilities. If I become a Pro Golfer I would focus my interviews and play on God. God is the reason for me doing so good this year in my Golf Tourneys. Well, I have to go to the Golf Range.

I would like to say............... WELL SAID AUSTIN!!!

Anonymous said...

I play the electric guitar so i could join a Christian band to influence people about God. I also am a loudtalker so I could use that loud voice to preach to people.

Anonymous said...

I couldn't have said it better t-money$$

Anonymous said...

some of the ways i can use my gifts for God is by letting my light shine as i do my special gifts and let other people know it is not by my skill i can do these things but by Gods.

Anonymous said...

for me it is sometines easier to make fun of people because i want to be like everyone else but sometimes i feel like standing up for them. i guess i am on both sides of the fence.

Anonymous said...

way to go brandon! that would be an awesome way to show your god given talents. burn it up baby.

Anonymous said...

austin is plain right on.

Anonymous said...

I think it would be easier to pick on someone than stand up to them because you are faced with either the right thing and being mocked or doing the normal thing and being treated the same as everyone.

Steven H. is right on the spot. People will get caught up in what is not right and just everyone's idea of what to do.

~ Samuel W. 5th hr. Bible class

Anonymous said...

i can use my gifts to help and encourage others.

Anonymous said...

It is way easier to make fun of someone b/c everyone else is doing it. A way we can shine a light for God would be tostick up for the person and protect which is way harder to do, but it's the right thing to do.

Anonymous said...

I agree with T- Money, it's way easier to put people down then to stick up for them.

Anonymous said...

i agree with austin williams

Anonymous said...

It is hard for us to be comfortable with who we are because the world tells us that you have to be good looking or attractive to be noticed and happy. What we can do is remember that "we are all beautifully and wonderfully made." God made us each special and beautiful. Think about this, If you are good looking, How will that benefit you in heaven? Think about that.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Josh E. Sticking up for someone is the right thing to do, but it won't be easy. You need to be fully commited to it. You may start strong, but you need to endure. "Slow and steady wins the race,"

Anonymous said...

i think i can use my abilities in sports to share with friends that are not christians.

Anonymous said...

i agree withn austin that was well said

Anonymous said...

i think that it easer to pick on others then stick up for them because if others see you sticking up for that person then they would most likeley pick on both of the people even though they know that they should stand up with thoses people. and if either side pickers or standers are chosen we will eather be a school where everyone loves eachother or where were everyone hates eachother. and if your reading this ask yourself are you a picker or a stander.

Anonymous said...

i think rickie ross has the right idea no matter how we try to get ourself to not be picked on we will be.[

Anonymous said...

i agree with blantron

Anonymous said...

i think that you should use your abilities for god and his purpose

Anonymous said...

I use my abilities in sports for God, so I play all the sports I can with the ability hes givin me.

Anonymous said...

sometimes for me it is very hard to get comfortable becuz u think about ALL THOSE PEOPLE and then u think about yourself as a whole it is very hard to look yoourself in the mirror and tell yourself that nothing is wrong mabe at school or just something mite have happend and then u think about what has happend and u tell yourself mabe that u just didnt do it rite or mabe u stink at this but overall ur just fine the way u r and it doesnt matter what u look on the outside just the inside!

Anonymous said...

i agree with stever because we are the same way

Anonymous said...

I THINK U SHOULD ALSO STICK UP FOR THE PEOPLE THAT MITE BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT CUZ U MITE BE ON COMMMENT AWAY BEFORE JUST PUSHING THEM OVER THE EDGE AND U MITE THAT PERSON TO SAY HEY I LIKE THAT SHIRT OR I LIKE YOUR HAIR TODAY BECUZ THAT COMPLIMENT JUST MITE OF SAVED ALIVE I ALSO WANT TO RESPOND TO NATES QUESTION SOME PEOPLE MITE THINK THERE REAL COOL PICKING ON PEOPLE BUT REALLY UR HURTING UR REP TO TELL U THE TRUTH THE BIBLE SAYS EVERYBODY IS EQUAL SO Y PICK ON SOMEONE WHEN REALLY THERE IS SOMETHING HURTING U GOOD QUEST. NATE

Anonymous said...

On nates question, We don't do the right thing because we care more about ourselves rather than on others. We also think that picking on others will make us look more popular on the outside, when really it doesn't. If we worked from the inside out like the video we saw today then we won't care about ourselves, and instead we will want to stick up for them, and not put them down.

this is a story abought a guy who liked to pick on people.there once was a guy named greg.greg was not a strait A student he was more like a strait D student.greg was the kind of person who was the class clown and all always got in troble. he would always pick on a kid named kirt.now kirt was a strait A goodie goodie and easy to pick on so greg took advantige of that. greg picked on him so much that every day after school he went to the councler.greg one day went to far on the jokes and pushed kirt over the edge and he punched greg.greg beat kirt of corse and got susspended and he never graduated.20 years later kirt pulled up to a mcdonnalds drivethrough and saw a guy in raggady cloths and a name tag that said greg and kirt said how are you greg at that moment greg ran out of the mcdonalds and hassent ben sean.then a few days later kirt saw him again and greg said im sorry and kirt stood there and said me to for not coming and finding you sooner than i did. the moral of the story is dont be a picker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God loves us for who we are but sometimes you think others and even God dont care about you at all most people wish they could change something about themselves in tough times i think of how God just made my life horible my life is great just the way it is though and God has the perfect plan for my life

Anonymous said...

i agree with chase we get caught up in ourselves so much that we forget that everyone has different beliefs and we cant get self-conscinous about our belief in Jesus Christ we have to tell the world about God to impact it for the glory of God

Robert Killion
I agree with Michael. You have to be comfortable with who you are because if you are not comfortable with who you are, you are not being the person God wants you to be.

It's easier to pick on people than to stick up for them. If you stick up for someone they could just start teasing you. Most of us know that being teased does not feel good. So maybe we should take a stand and start standing up for others.

Anonymous said...

Most of the time it's a lot harder to stick up for somebody because making fun of them makes you feel good about yourself, makes you feel big and bad, but really it makes you look worse, it makes you look like a jerk.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Rickie. You may be made fun of if your yourself, so people put on "masks" to conceal who they really are.

Anonymous said...

Thomas why do we pick on others why does it make us popular? Why doesn't getting along make us popular? do we have to pick on others

Anonymous said...

I think that we need to be ourselves and not worry about what others think because if we worry so much about what other people think we will never feel comfortable with what we want to do

Anonymous said...

I agree with Sam that you shouldn't try and be someone you're not

Anonymous said...

yes totally you should only be your self why be someone else

Anonymous said...

also i think it is easier to make fun of someone then to stick up for them

Anonymous said...

hi

Anonymous said...

sometimes it can be hard to do what's right, because in our sinful human nature, we tend to pick on others rather than do what's right. I try every day to stick up for the guys that get picked on, especially the sevies, but sometimes, i find myself as the one who is picking on them...

Anonymous said...

it's always easier for me too pick on others rather than stand up for them as well. ):

Anonymous said...

For the question about why its hard to be comfortable with who you are,I think that we always want to be better and want everyone to like us. We always want to be better than everyone else.

Anonymous said...

ohhhhhhhh come on nate u cant say ur perfect and u never made fun of a kid in the class
